*Thre are a few theories about why marbles occasionally wash up on the world's beaches. One fo the most likely is that they are Codd marbles.In the late 1800s an inventor named Hiram Codd designed a glass bottle that used a marble as the stopper.  Bottles with marble stoppers are still used in Japan.
